big berthas

i was a bit hesitant about doing a big hills session this close to the big day but figured i could take it slowly (although its never easy...). I had 10 on my program but at 6 i was feeling the pain above my ankle again (grrrrrrr) and stopped for a stretch. then sean said that would probably be enough.

on the plus side i started easy and wasn't busting a gut but at the same time i felt quite strong and consistent and managed to go past some people who started a lot faster than me - which is completely unusual for me. So i am happy and feel a bit more confident that i can handle some hills.

all up 6.73k this morning. the hills section was 2.56km at 6.04 avg pace.

in sad news - Go Girl is too injured to run on sunday. of course i would love having her along but i want her to get better! plus i've still got lots of buddies - blkbox is still on board and there is gnome in the 2 hour pace group and i think Horrie and Belinda will be around my timing. (although judging by Belinda's inner speed demon on the track i am not so sure!!). i'm staying in kirribilli on saturday night with some mates which will be great - will definitely take some of the stress out of the early morning transportation drama!

3 sleeps to go :) and one more run...

Good luck on Sunday and remember to just relax and enjoy it. You may love Wild Wally after the little hill towards the end of the course.

Good luck for Sunday Ellie. Most importantly, trust in the training that you have done, relax & have fun. After all, you only get to run for your first HM (with an honour guard no less!) once in your life!!

Just try and stay relaxed Ellie. We will start out steady and just build into it, find our rhythm and just roll along. Of course, we will have to fight fatigue in the back end. But that is where all the good training you have done kicks in. Whatever time you finish in, I promise it will be a run you never forget.
