its been ages...

seems like since i have had a proper run. actually it was wednesday.

was on a tight schedule this morning because i had to get in my run (1hr 9k) before supervision (9-11am) before coming back home and paying my rent (in person between 10 and 12am every second saturday... hello .. earth to electronic tranfers...) then heading over to Drummoyne for another appointment with Ali the dietitian at 1pm and then meeting some girlfriends for afternoon tea at 3pm and getting my friend to the airport some time around 6 or 7.

this was all contingent on getting the run done nice and early - but mannnnn... the rain was HEAVY!!! however at 7.15 i finally got out the door thinking that there was absolutely no other time that i would be able to get it done. so i got wet. ended up doing an abridged version - 41.30 for 6.97k in 5.57 avg pace. i was trying to go faster and most of the way was average 5.42 but the hill at the end killed me. Splits were 6.24, 5.45, 5.45, 5.30, 5.19, 5.37, 7.06. last one was a hill but i am disappointed that i dropped that far back. think i was trying to prove something to myself - but i didn't... hmm...

now - thank you everyone for your encouragement - it means a LOT. I am also very lucky that blkbox has offered to run with us too - so it will be a great bunch of people and i think it will help a great deal.

The only query that i still have is - what is the deal with all this talk of chocolate? tradition? and attempt to sabotage me? :)

Ellie, the four of you should make for an easy group to spot. That is exciting. I'm sure they'll look after you.

By the way, I thought Melbourne was the only city with horizontal rain.

Sounds like it is going to be an enjoyable race. You are very lucky to have such a nice group of mates to help out and support you. I cant wait to find out how it goes.....no pressure intended :)

easy group to "spot", or easy group to "hear from a kilometre away"?
