my legs hurrrrt

this post is mostly an excuse for a whinge - but its my blog and i'll do what I want ;)

had a rest day on the program which was good because i have been just a bit tired and feeling crap all weekend. then i walked down the stairs from my house and my quads went (and I quote) "owwww....". so as i had my sneakers on i decided to walk to work and see if that would help at all. didn't really - but was a nice walk anyway (although my hair is all messy now from the wind).

so adding to the lessons of the sutherland to surf (number one being don't go out too hard) number two is - 'muscles need stretching - properly - after races as well as training runs'. (some would call that one intuitive - but i apparently need to learn some of these things the hard way....) :)

PS: The Garmin people say: Your item arrived at the delivery Post Office in AUSTRALIA at 2:36 pm on July 21, 2006. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. So excited!!!

PPS- It arrived!! it is very cool - although looks mildly ridiculous on my wrist! unfortunately i can't charge it cause i don't have a US power adaptor. will acquire one at lunch time and then charge it this arvo so i can play tonight and use it tomorrow morning. coooollll...

Nice effort yesterday Ellie. I reckon that DOMS in quads etc is a sign that you dug deep in a race. So well done girl !

Great run yesterday Ellie, sorry we didn't catch up at BD and Bernies...you should be able to charge the Garmin through the USB port on your PC...try it, might save a few bucks!

US has different voltage. Their power pack won't work and it probably isn't a good idea to try it...save your money on the adapter!

doh! just went out and bought one. i won't be charging through my computer at home anyway (stupid macs...) so its only $15. i am worried about the voltage thing though!!! it is saying 'battery charge in progress' though so hopefully its not busted! i didn't see anything written about the voltage... eek.

If it came from Garmin themselves and they knew you were in Australia surely they would have sent the right pack? If it is saying that it is charging, it could be OK, but mightn't hurt to ask them?
PS sorry for making you worried.

If you look on the charger it should say something about voltage. I'm pretty sure it says 100~240V so it can handle any voltage. All you need is the adapter which you have.
I don't think you need to have any software installed to be able to charge the thing, so even plugging it into the Mac should let you charge it. There will be Mac software out later in the year.
