attacking the uphills
Today at training we (ie me and Kerry) were programmed to do 3x2 laps - attacking the uphills and 'floating' the downhills. after yesterday i was a bit tired in the legs (there's a lesson there but at the moment i am choosing to ignore it...). but still i did it. felt ok actually but possibly could have pushed a bit harder.
because we were floating the downs we weren't supposed to be that focussed on times - but mine were 4.59, 5.04, 4.59.
not sure how long the loops were, i'm guessing less than the 500m i thought because of the times!
All up including runs to and from the park and to and from the hill and strides it was probably 8ish k's. not too bad although i need to magic up another 2k's in the session to make it the 10 that is on my program.
getting excited for the Sutherland to Surf on sunday (nervous...). i got my Striders singlet in the mail the other day so i guess I am supposed to wear it at races like this? or maybe just for the 10k series. either way i am praying for no rain!!

nope - you're meant to wear it in races too, so you can get Super Series points and generally promote the cult of the Striders
Ellie, you better pray a lot if you want no rain on sunday morning...
I'm told you are supposed to wear it 23 hours per day - you may only take it off to shower. Fortunately I haven't received mine yet so my daily choice of attire is still broader than yours ;-)
Definitely wear it in every race. You'll be amazed at the numbers of striders that say hello that you don't know. Plus in a lot of races you hear Go Striders from the crowd which is always a great lift. See you Sunday Strider.
Gees, Jen must have long showers!
I thought the 'in thing' was Striders singlet and CR cap.
Wear it at the race. If it is anything like a CR cap you will have heaps of support.
Definately the singlet and then you get go strider! Have fun!
Hope it doesn't rain on you on Sunday. Good luck and have fun in your new Striders singlet. The correct uniform is Striders top and CR hat. Best of both worlds then. See you next week.
Have a great run Ellie.Hope you pleasantly surprise yourself!!
