next steps

went for the iron results this AM. they have again improved, but not as much as they should have, and bearing in mind that I have now been on double supplements for 3 months it is taking too long. so now i have a referral to a haematologist to talk about iron infusions. The appointment is not for a few weeks unfortunately, but better than nothing! on the plus side my cholesterol has improved a lot!

Why don't you just eat some rusty nails like all the other triathletes :-)

Nice work with the run in the heat last night - it was a tad warmish.

You certainly picked it Ellie, that's a good thing that you know your body so well.

Before the infusions are they going to find out the reason causing the slow uptake?

My wife has a blood condition which primarily effects her platelets, which is then causing her to also have a low iron count.

I do not mean to cause concern but some conditions do mask others which are sometimes more serious. You just need to be make it clear to your specialist that you want to find out the cause before treatment is discussed.

Sorry for the rambling :-)
