1km fartlek loops
we were down on the schedule to do an outside loop of the park for our fartlek today but sean changed that and mapped out a 1km loop that we surged down the straights and 'floated' the bends. it is great to watch the fast people do it because at least there is a difference in their 'float' and 'surge'. i battled through though. Sean suggested 5 or 6 or 7 laps. I did 6 in 33 something. i felt pretty strong though and was glad i went to the session. There are still people in the group that i don't know but everyone is really nice. Perhaps if i think of it as an opportunity to socialise rather than run it will be easier to get up ;) (and there was a new cute boy there this morning! eye candy is always worth a bit of extra motivation... hehe)
My program for next month is an easier month where my long runs drop right back and build up again. i think that is good as i am starting to feel a few aches and pains. But this sunday is still down for 1hr50mins and luckily Kerry is doing the same so we are going to team up for an early one. i do like having company on those long runs.
There is potential for a big night tonight backed up with a viewing of "the" game tomorrow at 5am at my friends house who has a tv projector thing. not sure whether both of those can happen... unless i stay out until then... which i guess is always an option. a stupid option, but a real one nonetheless...
my stupid emails at work are over 12 hours delayed now - driving me nuts!
