did it
5 days straight sticking to the program exactly (or doing more than required!). I am submitting my application for an Order of Australia now. If that isn't good enough then i bloody don't know what is. hehe. ok you know i'm kidding...
anyway got up early and despite the bitter cold and the shroud of darkness over the park i picked my way through all the obstacles (including tree roots, uneven ground and my reluctant legs) and got there. once i was there it was fine and i felt like i had a really good session. we had 4.8km (12 laps) of windsprints which is where you "sprint" the straights and slow down a bit on the bends. i finished in 26.20 which i was pretty happy with as i felt pretty strong still and had a bit left in the legs. i should have gone slower though because Sean told the 2 behind me to stop after 11 laps!!!! But all in all I am really pleased i went along and felt good.
the run home felt like a massive slog though... :)
and back to work after a long weekend - and i'm glad!!! hallelujah. i was pretty good this weekend - only drank on thursday and friday nights.
Just to recap the last 5 days included:
- 30 mins (just short of 5kms i reckon)
- 1 hour (about 9kms)
- between 1hr45m and 2hr15 including walking and stuff - 15.88km
- 35 mins (5 and a bit kms)
- sweat - 3km to and from home + warm up 1km + strides + 4.8km windsprints (9.5ish)
for a grand total of just under 45kms. not bad i reckon - i'm officially "back on track" after the (scary) nosh.

Nice one Ellie, I knew you could do it :)
I'd suggest holding your OAM application a while - I'm sure you'll be able to strengthen your case as the year unfolds!!
Good job Ellie...half way to a habit, and almost an addiction!
Congrats Ellie! That is a great effort.... now you can claim to be in a habit!
See you thursday!!!
Wow. That's huge.
LOL, at least one of us is back after NOSH ;-)
Back on track yeah...good feeling.
That's a great effort. Don't be put off by any race.. they're all hard in their own way and you're showing great commitment by getting back out there.
I'm sure you'll be fine once I'm back to chase you around, although I've done so little running it's not going to be easy to keep up.
Fantastic stuff Ellie. Good on ya for sticking to your plan.
Watch out next CR 5k Challenge!
Well done there. Keep up the great work.
